Volunteering
There's more than one way to be a part of London 2012 Legacy.
If you were Inspired by our Games Makers, be a Sport Maker!
Sport Makers is an Olympic legacy programme designed to help achieve the pledge of the 2012 Games to inspire more people to take up sport and physical activity across the UK.
Recognising that sport doesn't just 'happen' but requires the time and input of teams of enthusiastic individuals, the Sport Makers volunteering programme will provide thousands of people with the skills, knowledge and opportunities to bring sport to life at a local level.
The programme is your chance to make sport happen in your local community - which includes everything from arranging informal kickabouts in the park to organising regular jogging sessions and from helping out at your local sports club to marshalling at mass-participation events like the Hereford Half Marathon.
Becoming a Sport Maker is easy and you don't have to be 'super fit and sporty' to get involved.
It is entirely your choice whether you take an active sporting role or a more organisational / adminstrative one. Each and every Sport Maker will play a vital role in inspiring and enabling the people around them (friends, family, work colleagues, neighbours) to become more active and take up sport.
The Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire will provide you with all the information and tools you need to help bring sport to life in your community.
All we ask in return is that you log at least ten hours of your activity to get more people playing sport.
So go on...
